Santa Ponsa Holiday
Santa Ponsa today is a thriving beach resort in Mallorca that is not as full throttle as Magaluf or Palma Nova, but still is a popular package holiday destination for UK tourists. Santa Ponsa (or Santa Ponca as it is also written) today shows barely any likeness to the quiet little fishing village it was historically. Santa Ponsa is located under half an hour away Palma and about 5km south of Magalluf on the south west coast of Mallorca.

Santa Ponsa is famous as the location that King Jaime I first landed in 1229 when he conquered the island of Majorca from the Moors. A stone cross found at the Santa Ponsa Marina commemorates this historic event.
Santa Ponsa is a well developed, lively Majorca beach resort, with fairly wild nightlife and excellent beach culture. Santa Ponsa beach is the main beach for tourisim, with a second smaller beach called Calo d’en Pellicer located closer to the Marina. Theere is a third, more exclusive beach is Castellot.
The Mediterransea sea around all 3 beaches is crystal blue and offers safe swimming. Along the length of the main Santa Ponsa beach is a pine fringed pedestrian promenade, offering a nice shaded walk along the pine trees, near to the the restaurants, bars, shops and at night the discos. Over the years, Santa Ponsa has seen a number of Scottish and Irish pubs and bars open.
