Arenal Holiday
Arenal is one of the first areas in Majorca to be developed for mass tourism and to be blunt it shows. Back in those early days in the 1950’s to the 1970s a plan to preserve the character of the area was not in existence and as a result Arenal is a bit of a blot on the landscape compared to more well planned resorts. The council has however been spending a lot of money and effort to improve the area and a new waterfront promenade has been built. Arenal is couples or single persons holiday really and the tourist family has mainly moved to other beach resorts in Majorca.
Even though Arenal is not winning any beauty contests it does offer an excellent beach and the ability to enjoy a cheap Majorca holiday. Arenal is for people that like late nights and a good selection of bars and entertainment, Arenal is the party central.
